Session Overview:

Every 10 minutes in Australia, someone experiences a stroke.  Stroke costs the Australian economy $5 billion each year.  The nursing care that we provide can improve outcomes for people experiencing stroke.

Join Simeon Dale as she takes us behind the scenes of the QASC research program. This program of research has introduced protocols to manage Fever, Sugar (Hyperglycaemia), swallow (FeSS protocols), in Australia and across Europe.

This session will cover:
* Why Fever, hyperglycaemia are important to manage
* How to upscale and spread your research
* Lessons in how to change clinicians behaviour

About Speaker:
Simeon Dale

Simeon Dale is a Clinical Research Fellow for the Nursing Research Institute, St Vincent’s Health Network Sydney, St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne & Australian Catholic University. She has 18 yrs clinical experience in critical care nursing specialising in Neuroscience, in three countries.

Simeon is currently working with Prof Sandy Middleton on the QASC Europe Project. She has published in high impact journals including the Lancet, Stroke, Implementation Science and International Journal of Stroke.
